Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji founded Sachkhand Nanak Dham to guide people towards inner peace, truth and unity. Born in Batala, Punjab in 1953, he experienced spiritual encounters from a young age. At 17, he received a divine message to begin the work he was sent to Earth to do: a moment that shaped the rest of his life.
He gave his first spiritual discourse on 15th August 1971, which became the foundation of a growing mission rooted in love, awareness and selfless service. In 1973, he formally established Sachkhand Nanak Dham and opened Batala Darbar at the site of his spiritual awakening. As his following grew, he opened Loni Darbar in 1977—now the global headquarters of the organisation.
Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji’s message was simple: live with truth, see the divine in every soul and help others without expectation. He gave Naam (Shabad) to millions and spoke out against ego, division and injustice. His work extended overseas as he first visited the UK in 1979 and opened the Birmingham centre in 1982 to inspire a global community. His impact extended across communities and faiths, even earning recognition from HRH Prince Charles in 1987.
Later that year, on 11th November 1987, Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji was tragically assassinated during a congregation in a school hall in Southall. Baba Jee Satwant and Das Joga Singh were two devotees who were also present and had later lost their lives as a result of their injuries. Though Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji left his physical form that year, his teachings continue to guide people across the world to live with clarity, compassion and purpose.
Under Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji’s guidance:
- Sachkhand Nanak Dham and Das Dharam were established: Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji founded the mission with two branches: spiritual guidance through Sachkhand Nanak Dham and humanitarian service through Das Dharam.
- Formed his own scripture: “Yashwanti Niradhar” was written by Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji with hymns, teachings and references to previous Gurus and Prophets to form a multi-faith scripture.
Established Darbars: Hazur Mahraz Darshan Das Ji successfully opened multiple Darbars including Batala Darbar, Loni Darbar and Birmingham Darbar as spiritual hubs for satsang, kirtan, spiritual growth and selfless service (sewa).
